Getting started

How do I test a rule set?

Open the Test tab. Pipl starts with a demo rule set and sample URLs so you see verdicts right away. Add your own rules — by domain, suffix, keyword, regular expression, or a catch-all fallback — paste in sample URLs, and Pipl shows a PROXY / DIRECT / BLOCK verdict for each with the matching rule highlighted.

Does Pipl actually connect to those URLs?

No. Pipl never makes network requests. The URLs are matched locally against your rules — they are never fetched or contacted. Pipl is not a VPN and has no network access.

Features

What does Analyze do?

Analyze audits the whole rule set for unreachable (shadowed) rules, duplicates and conflicts, suggests a better order, and reports coverage — turning a surprising result into a clear reason.

Can I import rules from Clash?

Yes. Paste Clash-style rule text and Pipl parses it into an editable rule set you can reorder, toggle, and re-evaluate.

Data

Where is my data stored?

On your device only — no cloud, no sync, no upload, no account. If you delete the app, your rule sets go with it; use iOS device backups if you want to keep them.

Does it work offline?

Completely. Everything is computed on-device, so Pipl works with no connection — there is nothing for it to connect to.

Troubleshooting

A regex rule isn't matching what I expect.

Open the Regex tab, paste the pattern and your test strings, and you'll see match and group highlighting, a plain-English explanation, and a why-it-didn't-match hint. Refine it there before adding it to your rule set.

I want to reset everything I've entered.

Use Settings inside Pipl to clear local state. The action is destructive and is confirmed in a dialog; nothing is stored on a server, so there is no cloud copy to remove.
